The Tringham Sisters enjoyed a workshop day with us, making beautiful gold remembrance rings for their much loved grandad who had recently passed away.
The rings are extra special as they have been recycled from ‘Guyanese Gold’ jewellery originating from their grandfather’s homeland. Included was a bangle that had belonged in turn to both their grandmother and aunt – who also came to the workshop day (along with a framed photo of grandad so he wouldn’t miss out on the fun!).
The beauty of their chosen design is its simplicity – a fine wire band with a single knot tied in it – a Forget Me Knot ring in polished red gold. Understated and stylish, it is the perfect design for a contemporary remembrance ring.
Although red gold is not the easiest precious metal to work with, we were able to create four Forget Me Knot rings – one for each of The Tringham Sisters and their aunt. A Forget Me Knot charm was also made for their brother’s watch strap.
The atmosphere in the workshop was amazing – a joyous celebration – with the Tringham Sisters performing a mini gig and an impromptu barbecue lunch outside the workshop!
