Measurements and sizings

Images may not be displayed at their actual size. All sizes and measurements are given for guidance only.

If we are not measuring your ring size for you, we strongly recommend that measurements are taken by a professional jeweller.  Ring measurements should take into account the width of the desired band. For example, deep bands should be measured with a wide gauge, and fine bands with a thin gauge.  Multiple or stacking ring designs are best measured on a wide gauge.

We offer a replica ring service that guarantees the fitting for all bespoke ring commissions. A replica ring will help you get a feel for your chosen design – it ensures the perfect fit, whether you are placing your order face-to-face or from the comfort of your own home.  This service is offered free for all ring orders over £500, or it can be requested for any ring design at a cost of £25.  If you choose not to use the Replica Ring service, you will be required to pay the return postage if you need to send the ring back to us for re-sizing.  Any additional re-sizing thereafter will be charged for, as well as the return and re-delivery costs involved.

Please note that we are unable to re-size some ring designs. Where this is the case, only fixed ring sizes are offered.

Necklaces and bracelets are sold in the lengths specified on our website.  Custom lengths are available on request for most designs.  There may be a charge involved for the extra materials used.  Where this is the case, you will be informed before any work is undertaken.

Eligibility

You must be 18 or over to buy jewellery from our website. You must be 16 or over to submit your personal details on our website.  By using our services, you confirm that you are of an appropriate age and agree to abide by our Terms and Conditions.

Payments

We accept payment with Visa, Mastercard and PayPal, as well as via direct bank transfer.  Workshops and consultations need to be booked in advance and secured with a deposit.  All payments are securely processed through PayPal.

All jewellery purchases are billed in UK pounds sterling, and you will be liable for any local import duty or taxes due on your purchase.

Bespoke jewellery commissions and uniquely customised designs may be processed manually, and a custom invoice issued via PayPal by email.  We also accept card payments by telephone.

We reserve the right to refuse a sales order at our discretion.

Sales Contract

The contract of sales is concluded when you receive email confirmation from us that your order is accepted. Our Terms and Conditions are available on this website for your reference at any time.

Your jewellery order will be processed as soon as your deposit is received.

All items are subject to availability. If we are unable to fulfil an order, any monies paid will be refunded. We are not liable for compensation or damages if an item is unavailable.

All jewellery remains the property of McIntosh Jewellery until it is paid for in its entirety.

Delivery

The delivery times given on our website are approximate and may be subject to conditions outside of our control.  Bespoke commissions can vary according to complexity, and Fairtrade orders require approvals that can increase the delivery time.  Delivery times are also extended when using our Replica Ring service.

We always endeavour to meet standard delivery times, but if we are unable to do so we will contact you immediately to agree a new date.  McIntosh Jewellery is not liable for delivery problems on the part of the shipping company, nor for compensation or damages for late or non-delivery of orders.

Cancellations

If you make a mistake when ordering please contact us as soon as possible. We are unable to accept cancellations on bespoke, customised or personalised orders already in production. We reserve the right to refuse a refund or exchange on goods ordered in error.

Deposits paid for bespoke, customised or personalised items are non-refundable.

Returns Policy

McIntosh Jewellery works to the highest standards and we thoroughly examine every order before it is dispatched. Please inspect your order on receipt.

30-day returns policy

You may return ready-to-wear jewellery for an exchange or refund if it is not worn or used.  The 30-day return period starts on receipt of your order.  You pay only for the return postage. An exchange or refund will be issued when the item is returned in perfect, un-worn condition in its original, undamaged packaging.

Please note that we are unable to offer refunds or exchanges on:

  • Bespoke, customised or personalised jewellery
  • Pierced earrings
  • Diamond certifications

If any item is received damaged or faulty, or the order is incorrect, you must contact us within 7 working days.  Items need to be returned to us before we can send out a replacement.

How to return goods

  1. Contact us to authorise the return of the item.
  2. All items must be properly packaged and returned through a recorded and insured delivery service.
  3. All returns should be sent to the address given on our Contact Us page.

Any unauthorised, improperly packaged, damaged or non-insured packages cannot be accepted for return. for any items damaged, lost or stolen in transit.

We are not liable for the costs of returns, returns damaged in transit or not received by us, and we do not refund charges on exchanges.

Our returns policy does not affect your statutory rights.

Warranty

We offer a full 12-month warranty on workmanship, which commences from the date of receipt. This warranty is void if goods have been damaged through accident, third party repairs, misuse, careless handling, normal wear-and-tear, or during transit and delivery by the postal service or shipping company.  We reserve the right to repair or replace faulty items.  If it is determined that the item is not faulty, you will be charged for the return postage.

Promotions and Offers

  • Only one promotion or offer can be applied at any one time when ordering goods or services. Offers and promotions cannot be applied in conjunction.
  • Offers and promotions do not apply to Bespoke Commissions unless clearly stated as such.
  • We reserve the right to withdraw an offer or promotion at any time.

Copyright

All McIntosh Jewellery designs are subject to copyright, as are any jewellery designs displayed or sold by any other designers showcased on our website.

When commissioning a specifically requested jewellery design with McIntosh Jewellery it is taken as confirmation that the design does not infringe the design copyrights of others. We accept no responsibility for any copyright infringement on the part of designers or customers submitting designs to be made by McIntosh Jewellery.  If an issue regarding copyright infringement arises, it must be resolved between the parties directly involved, and with no recourse to McIntosh Jewellery.

Amendments
